A vertical sundial , as the name implies, has its dial mounted vertically, usually on the wall of a building. in distinction to a horizontal dial which has its dial plate placed horizontally, either on the ground or on a pedestal.

This vertical sundial is situated over the south door of the church. The gnomon indicates that the building is aligned approximately South-West.

Unfortunately, time has made it difficult to read the detail but it was possible to decipher the inscription:
